About

        My name is Mohamed Taha AbedRaboo. I am a native speaker of Arabic Language, an academically qualified linguist, and a seasoned English <> Arabic translator of ten years’ solid experience and extended cooperation with many leading regional and worldwide translation agencies in several fields with special focus on the fields of technical, automotive, legal, financial, and medical translation, areas of media marketing, websites translation besides three published translated books, and many articles. I am a certified member of proz community and an associate member of American Translators Association.  Besides, I am a trainer and expert user of CAT Tools, LQA softwares, and related QA packages.

 For the promotion of open knowledge, I am an active participant as verified translator in Translators without Borders organization and Coursera Arabic Translation program. Also, I have developed several specialized glossaries and Termbases under Creative Commons (CC) and provided several voluntary workshops on CAT tools and subtitling software.

My Experience

  I worked as an in-house translator for 4 years and six months (June 2008-December 2012) then I have worked as a freelance translator for 6 years and half (Since January 2013). 

This is a decade of diverse enriching experiences and practical involvement in hundreds of projects and extended cooperation with many leading regional and worldwide translation agencies. I gained an in-depth know-how of translation practice and developed a solid expertise in the providing the services of the field, according to the highest standards adopted in translation industry.

My career is considerably diverse as I worked in several domains of translation, with special focus on the fields of automotive, technical, law, finance, marketing, websites’ translations and trans-creation. I also work on a third path of translating cultural and scientific books and articles specially on popularizing science and humanities.

Perfect command of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) besides Egyptian, Jordanian and Libyan dialects.

    I am a native Arabic speaker who studies Arabic language, academically, for 25 years so far. I gained an excellent knowledge of the Arabic language through such extended academic endeavor. The continuous reading and studying of Modern Standard Arabic and classical Arabic have enabled me to develop a free grammar-errors writing, with great attention to different writing styles according to geographical, functional and cultural aspects of source texts.

Perfect Command of English Language: I have actively studied English language for over 23 years.

     I got a full and extended university training for 4 years. Then I got a Diploma in English Proficiency and now pursuing my postgraduate higher studies. In 2017, I got IELTS Band 8, scoring 8.5 on reading and writing sections. My postgraduate studies on Applied Linguistics gave me a deeper insight of approaching and understating texts with a deeper grasping of the functioning of language according to context and purpose of linguistic communication.

CAT Tools

Technology is a major feature of Translation Industry at today’s world. Thus, I was alert for mastering CAT tools. In 2010, I got an extended training on the most commonly used CAT tools. Today, I am a professional user of CAT Tools and a trainer of the following tools:

  • SDL Studio (2021- 2019-2017-2015-2011)
  • MemoQ (Most versions since 5.6)
  • WordFast Classic – Pro (5 and 3)
  • MemoSource – Translation Workspace
  • Deja Vu – Star Transit

       Using CAT Tools enables providing the highest level of accuracy, consistency and terminology. We deliver each Project along with its translation memory and glossaries/ termbases. Upon the needs of the client, the provided deliverables can include additional services such as glossaries and terms-bases in certain formats. CAT Tools cover a wide range of different formats and, thus, clients will not suffer any technical issues or worries about preparing their files before/ after translation process.
